Vote for the most beautiful ring of the year!

This year marks the 17th edition of the Most Beautiful Ring of the Year competition. The competition aims to promote Finnish jewellery design and highlight Finnish goldsmithing skills. This year's theme, "Flora", has encouraged jewellery designers to be inspired by the beauty of organic forms and the principles of sustainability. The theme has challenged us to consider how the beauty of nature can be reflected in both the design language of the jewellery and the responsible choices behind it. The design language of the ring is supported by a unique name and a short, inspiring story to open up the inspiration behind the ring's design.

Ten rings have been selected for the final of the Most Beautiful Ring of the Year competition and we are proud that two Festive rings designed by goldsmith-designers Annika Takanen and Marko Osala have been included in the competition.

The Pihka ring, designed by Annika Takanen and made of recycled gold and carefully selected diamonds, is inspired by the rough surface of the tree and the resin that runs along the surface of the bark. The resin symbolises safety and protection for the core, love. "Nature's unique and one-of-a-kind forms have always been a great source of inspiration for me," says Takanen.

Designed by Marko Osala, the Feeniks ring is made of matte black zirconium, topped with a golden vine of recycled gold and diamonds to symbolise the growth of new life. The Feeniks ring tells the story of nature's incredible ability to survive and thrive. "I am particularly interested in challenging projects where I can focus fully on design and challenging technical details," Osala sums up.
